Who
K12 – A Stride Company, is an education management organization (EMO) that provides online education designed as an alternative to traditional “brick and mortar” education for public school students from kindergarten to 12th grade, as well as career learning programs.
Ease access and registration for affiliated schools and their parents, using the Salesforce Communities Platform.
An intuitive, accessible, and branded multi-user custom portal
Following a comprehensive user audit, a custom Parent Portal interface for school registration was developed on the Salesforce Communities Platform.
The Parent Portal dashboard interface makes it easy to manage required documentation, track children, and simultaneously approve multiple applications. The education staff benefits from more intelligent, fast, and cost-effective documentation automation by eliminating manual processing altogether.
Parents, meanwhile, can easily upload required documentation and stay in the loop through alerts, as documents are accepted or rejected. Intuitive workflows and highly engaged tools improve parents' user experience (UX), enabling quick portal navigation with less clicks and distractions.
The Results
The modern Parent Portal adheres to K12’s brand and interaction standards, and passes certifications for for WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility compliance, in accordance with K12’s status as an education provider.
The project was completed in a fraction of the time typical of such deployments.
K12 has observed a significant increase in:

- Decrease in K12 staff support time
